The photographer that I emulated was Chris Curran. He was born and raised in Titusville, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Philadelphia in Philly and then went on so become a studio manager for David Moser and then assisted Bill Cramer. IN 2007, Curran went independent and originally photographed the landscape and the people in his hometown. Later Curran became a commercial photographer for clients such as AOL, Wells Fargo, American Red Cross, and many more. His work is simple yet intriguing in both subject matter and composition.
I knew as soon as I saw his work that I wanted to emulate this photographer however I looked through his photographs multiple times before I actually choose a photo to emulate. Eventually I choose two photographs to attempt to emulate and then choose the best of the two. Althought my photograph does not exactly depict the same scene, it shows many of the same leading lines and was taken in a similar setting. The scale of the photo and the proximity to which the scene was taken at was also different from my photo to Chrisman's. The tone of Chrisman's photo is more serene than mine, however there is still a calm undertone to my image.
